Biography

Dr. Rao Gollapudi has been retired from the University of Kansas in 2012. Before that he worked as a researcher and faculty member in the medicinal chemistry department of KU (1980-1991) and as research scientist at KU (2010-2012) and as technical adviser to Oread Laboratories founded by (Late) Professor Takara Higuchi. Furthermore, he worked as director at Geneva Laboratories, Inc. Wisconsin, Manager in ABC Laboratories, Inc. Columbia, MO, Systems Administrator in PPD and Vice-President of Research and Development of Dynarx Technology, Inc., Lawrence.

Thyroid hormone is important for the regulation of body temperature, heart rate, blood pressure and metabolism. Thyroid abnormalities affect a large number of populations more in the elderly than in children. Hashimoto’s thyroiditis happens to be the most common cause of hypothyroidism. Women are more likely affected by Hashimoto’s disease than men.
