Evaluation of the Potential of Natural Biodegradable Polymers (Echinochloa Colonum Starch) and its Derivatives in Aqueous Coating of Hydrophilic Drugs
The two starch derivatives viz. acetyl starch and Carboxymethylated starch (CMS) were prepared in the laboratory. These derivatives and starch evaluated for their film forming and coating properties. The Metformin Hydrochloride, Acetyl Salicylic Acid, Ascorbic Acid were selected as model drugs as they are moisture sensitive for the preparation of core tablets.
