Biography
Dr. Biman B. Mandal is an Assistant Professor at Department of Biotechnology, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati working on Tissue Engineering, Biomaterials and Stem cells. He is a recipient of numerous National and International awards which includes the NASI- Young Scientist award 2013; DST- INSPIRE Faculty award 2013; MAHE Award 2012; DAE- Young Scientist Award 2011; SYIS Young Investigator Award, Singapore 2011; DBT-RGYI, 2012; DST-FAST TRACK, 2012; INDO-SWISS exchange student award, 2006. Dr. Mandal is an elected member of The National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI) since 2014. He received his bachelor’s degree from Presidency College, Calcutta University, India (2003) and his master’s degree in Biotechnology (2005). Dr. Mandal earned his Ph.D degree from Department of Biotechnology, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur and his Post Doctoral Research from Department of Biomedical Engineering, Tufts University, USA. He has been invited to deliver numerous talks both nationally and internationally including Justus-Liebig-Germany, NTU-Singapore and MIT-Boston.
