Biography
Janine Deakin received her PhD from Macquarie University in 1998. She then carried out postdoctoral research at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Janine returned to Australia in 2001 to take up a research position at ANU working on platypus dosage compensation. From 2004 -2010 Janine was a member of the ARC Centre for Kangaroo Genomics. Janine currently holds an ARC Future Fellowship to carry out research on devil facial tumour disease and is now based at the University of Canberra.
