Abstract
This article describes an intelligent carpet for human footstep detection and tracking. The carpet consists of textile based piezoresistive layer sandwiched between crossed conductive wires to make pressure sensor grids or pixels inside the carpet. Further, a preliminary noise filtering and signal extraction have been demonstrated by means of data analysis and statistical interpolation of signals (pressure based resistance change) obtained from the carpet.
