Abstract

Vertical maxillary excess is a problem that has a devastating effect on the esthetics of the face of a person. A study done on gingival display on attractiveness rating of lay people at University of Belfast, Result-1 mm display had highest rating and 6mm had least rating.There are vaious treatment options for vertical maxillary excess but we need to be very careful on which option we select. Here in this paper, a few cases of excellently treated Vertical maxillary excess by various options, ranging from Maxillary intrusion splint, Le fort 1 surgery and camouflage treatment. The tremendous effects of the least understood and hardly followed treatment using headgrears in growing patients with Vertical Maxillary Excess is clearly shown in this presentation.
