: Int J Ment Health Psychiatry

Abstract

This workshop concentrates on educative curriculum materials: resources specifically designed to engage and challenge learners while promoting teachers’ professional knowledge. Attendees of this workshop will discuss—and experience—digital educative curriculum materials: wise-practice teaching resources designed to engage and challenge learners and promote teachers’ professional knowledge. The workshop will center on educative curriculum materials that feature historical photographs in a disciplined civic inquiry approach to social studies instruction. Attendees may sharpen their visual literacy and historical thinking skills. The workshop leader will facilitate a conversation of the following questions: Which scaffolding approaches tend to support learners? What interface design principles should guide the construction of digital resources? How might learners interact with educatively scaffolded resources compared with traditional materials?
