Abstract

In a competitive world of Dental Implantolgy, Clinicians face immense challenge in selecting implants for routine rehabilitation cases. Most of the Dentist and Implantologist choose an Implant system not based on their knowledge but because they are exposed to a particular system when they started their implantology career or on recommendations from their friends, colleagues, professors or course mentors. Another reason being the most economically available implant system. I, personally explain the basis and criteria’s for implant selection which are evidence based, explaining right from the manufacturing zone, the material of choice (Cpti v/s Alloy), External and Internal designs of various system based on the Bio-Mechanics of Implant and bone trajactories, the implant abutment connection, the surface treatment protocol, the osteotomy kits, prosthetic availabilities and their comparative price. I, present a direct comparison between implant systems available which makes it easier for the clinician and gives him/her a wider picture and the correct reasons in choosing a particular implant system.
