Abstract

In the long history of dental treatments, the main objectives have always been to develop functionality and aesthetic aspects and treatments have focused on oral cavity only. However, while treating patients by taking into account their entire body condition, the following findings were been made: Impact of amalgam and resin fillings, gold-silver-palladium alloy and metal-related skin allergies and development of an electromagnetic hypersensitivity (EMS) due to those dental fillings acting like an antenna, links between periodontal disease and diabetes, peri-apical lesion/infection and auto-immune disease, occlusion and headache, lower back pain, neck pain, knee pain and walking difficulties and cerebral disease triggered by over stimulation of periodontal membrane due to occlusal pressure. Therefore, dentists should carefully consider the effects of dental treatments on the entire body of their patients.
