Nuclear power in Pakistan is provided by 3 licensed-commercial nuclear power plants, KANUPP, CHANUPP-1 and CHASNUPP-2. The Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC) is solely responsible for operating these power plants while Pakistan Nuclear Regulatory Authority (PNRA) is licenser, who devises, adopts, makes and enforces rules, regulations, orders or codes of practice for nuclear safety and radiation protection as may, in its opinion, be necessary.
