Petter Lovaas, a native of Sand fjord, Norway, served a mandatory year in the military after high school. He took general education courses at the American College of Norway in Moss, and then studied at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks before transferring to the University of Minnesota-Crookston. There, he received his B.S. in Information Technology Management with an emphasis on networking and system administration. During his undergraduate years, he worked as a Help Desk Coordinator and an IT professional. At Dakota State University in Madison, SD, Lovaas began a graduate program in Information Assurance, specializing in the banking sector, one of 11 critical infrastructures determined by the U.S. government. Upon completion of his M.S., Lovaas enrolled in a doctoral program at Dakota State, specializing in Information Assurance and Computer Security. He was employed as a security consultant, assisting banks and other financial institutions with the successful completion of federal IT security exams and their information security needs. During his graduate studies, Lovaas received a graduate teaching assistantship and taught both undergraduate and graduate courses. He received his Doctor of Science in May 2010. The title of his dissertation is “A Holistic Information Technology Audit Framework for Small- and Medium-Sized Financial Institutions.” Lovaas has presented papers at national and international conferences and published articles in information technology journals. In March 2010, he was a keynote presenter at a seminar at the Petoskey campus of North Central Michigan College, speaking about the information security field, particularly IT Risk Management and Auditing. He continues his research in information security and computer forensics. AMM Sharif Ullah was born and raised in Bangladesh. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology in late 1992. In early 1993, he moved to Japan for graduate studies. Accordingly, he received his Master and Doctor of Engineering degrees in Mechanical Engineering (Major: Manufacturing) from Kansai University Graduate School in early 1996 and 1999, respectively. He moved to Thailand in 2000 and started working as a full-time faculty member at Asian Institute of Technology (2000-2002, Assistant Professor). In late 2002, he moved to United Arab Emirates and joined United Arab Emirates University (2002-2006, Assistant Professor, 2006-2009, Associate Professor). He again moved to Japan in 2009 and joined Kitami Institute of Technology as a full-time faculty member (Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering), where he is still continuing. He directs the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Research Laboratory at Kitami Institute of Technology. He has been offering courses related to product realization engineering (creativity, design, manufacturing, operations, sustainability, and systems) for both undergraduate/graduate students. Xin-She Yang is also a Distinguished Professor of Shaanxi Province at Xi'an Engineering University, and a Guest Professor at Shandong University and Harbin Engineering University. He has authored a dozen books with Wiley, World Scientific, Dunedin Academic and Springer, and published more than 110 papers.Xin-She Yang is the Editor-in-Chief of Int. J. He received his doctorate from University of Florida in August 2010. After graduating he moved to France where he worked as researcher at INRIA Bretagne-Atlantique center in Rennes, until April 2013. At INRIA he was involved in a multi-million Euro European Union project where the goal was to develop a federation of clouds supporting extensive SLAs and QoP constraint providing users fine grained control over location of their compute resources and data. Since April 2013, he has joined Zurich University of Applied Sciences as a tenure-track researcher.
