Editorial

Journal of Nuclear Energy Science and Power Generation Technology has been the pioneer and a leading explorer of the latest trends in the field of nuclear science and power generation since 2012. This multidisciplinary open-access journal is rendering a global podium for the academicians, researchers, and students of the relevant disciplines to share their scientific excellence. I am pleased to mention that during the year 2019, all issues of Volume 8 were published online well within the time and the print issues were also brought out and dispatched within 30 days of publishing the issue online.

JNPGT during this year also brought out 6th International Conference on Renewable & Non-Renewable Energy and 5th World Bioenergy Congress conference proceedings, which consisted of ~ 25 abstracts.

The JCR Impact factor of JNPGT for the year 2019 was increased to 0.54 and the journal ranked one of the best journals in the field of Nuclear Energy and Power Generation. The journal is indexed in SCOPUS and other quality indexing sites such as Publons, Crossref, Sherpa Romeo, Cosmos, journal TOC, Chemical Abstacts Service, Citefactor and having Index Copernicus Value 67.14.

During the calendar year 2019, JNPGT received a total of 40 papers, out of which 22 articles (58%) were rejected in the preliminary screening due to plagiarism or being out of the format and peer review process. During 2019 around 10 articles were subjected for publication after they are accepted in the peer review process. In the three issues of Volume 8 published during the year 2019, a total of 9 articles and 3 editorials were published (at an average of 3 articles per issue) of which, articles were published from authors all around the world. Average publication lag time of an article was further reduced to 2-3 weeks.

During the calendar year 2019, a total of 10 Editors, 15 Reviewers joined the board of JNPGT and contributed their invaluable services towards contribution as well as publication of articles.

I take this opportunity to acknowledge the contribution of Gary Marlin Sandquist, Editor-in-chief during the final editing of articles published and the support rendered by the editorial assistant, Olivia Gray in bringing out issues of JNPGT in time. I would also like to express my gratitude to all the authors, reviewers, the publisher, the advisory and the editorial board of JNPGT, the office bearers for their support in bringing out yet another volume of JNPGT and look forward to their unrelenting support to bring out the Volume 9 of JNPGT in scheduled time.
