Biography

Wendy Demark-Wahnefried, PhD, RD is associate director for cancer prevention and control with the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center, as well as a professor of nutrition sciences. Her training includes a background in biochemistry, genetics and behavioral science, and she has conducted some of the largest studies exploring metabolic and body composition changes in response to cancer treatment.

Associations between obesity, body fat distribution, weight loss, and weight cycling on serum pesticide concentrations. Preliminary studies suggest pesticides may be linked to increased cancer risk.
