Biography
Tirso Pons received the PhD in Biology from the University of Havana in 2003. From 2003-2005, he was a postdoctoral researcher at Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (CIGB) and from 2006-2011, an associate professor in Bioinformatics at Faculty of Biology, University of Havana. He was a visiting scientist at Dr. Alfonso Valencia's Lab (CNB-CSIC) at the Autonomous University of Madrid, Spain, and at Dr. Gert Vriend's lab at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL), Heidelberg, Germany. From 2011-2016, he was a staff scientist at the Structural Biology and Biocomputing Programme of the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO), Madrid. Since 2017, he has been a researcher at Dr. Carlos Martínez-Alonso lab at the National Centre for Biotechnology (CNB-CSIC).
