However, zinc deficiency remains a global health concern, affecting millions of children worldwide and leading to serious consequences on their overall well-being. One of the primary effects of zinc deficiency on children is impaired growth. Zinc is necessary for the synthesis of DNA and RNA, which are vital for cellular division and growth. Additionally, public health initiatives aimed at improving overall nutrition and reducing malnutrition can have a significant impact on preventing zinc deficiency in children.
