Food plays a very important role in our daily life. It acts as a source of energy and provides us with diverse building blocks. Many foods are based on regional, cultural and religious influences. Halal food is emerging as one of the most important issue, and holds a leading position in the global business today. The main objective of halal food is to ensure that food is absolutely clean, pure and comply with Islamic principles. Hygiene and cleanliness are strongly emphasized in Islam and it includes every aspect of individuals and equipment involve in the production of halal food. A Transparent system of halal auditing has been developed to ensure zero suspicion of a manufactured product that complies with all halal requirements. The future demand for halal product is strong and is creating a strong presence in developed and developing countries. Main issues in halal production, certifications and relationship between halal production and food safety will be presented.
