Biography
Konstantinos Kantartzis, MSc and MD in endocrinology and metabolism, is Consultant in Internal Medicine and Senior Research Scientist of the Clinical Research Team in the Department of Endocrinology, Diabetology, Nephrology, Vascular Medicine and Clinical Chemistry and in the Paul-Langerhans-Institute, Member of the German Centre for Diabetes Research, at the University of Tübingen, Germany (Head: Professor H.-U. Häring).
Research Interest
His research interests include genetics and prevention of type 2 diabetes and the impact of adiposity and body fat distribution, in particular fat accumulation in the liver (fatty liver), on the production and action of adipokines and eventually on insulin sensitivity. He has published over 60 articles in peer-reviewed journals, with a cumulative impact factor over 230 and has received over 2700 citations (h-index: 23).
