Introduction
Sustainability has become a central theme in global hotel management, with Indian hotels also embracing eco-friendly practices. With increasing tourist awareness and government regulations, sustainable hospitality has turned into a competitive advantage [1].
Green Infrastructure and Energy Conservation
Hotels in India are investing in solar panels, energy-efficient lighting, and water-saving fixtures. LEED-certified buildings and green certifications like EarthCheck are becoming popular [2]. Many hotel chains have adopted rainwater harvesting and biodegradable toiletries to reduce their environmental footprint [3].
Waste Management and Local Sourcing
Proper waste segregation, composting of organic waste, and minimization of plastic use have become core sustainability measures. Additionally, local sourcing of food and materials supports regional economies and reduces carbon emissions from transportation [4][5].
