This University was found by Ataturk in order to set foundation for his teachings and revolutionary on which those would get stronger and spread wider. The first and most impressive performance by the young republic is to establish educational institutions. The initial and impressive accomplishment of the new Republic in the higher education were to open a School of Law and to educate the jurists for a new restructuring of the law in 1925; to establish the Higher Institute of Agriculture to serve the farmers of Turkey in 1933. The mission of the Ankara University is to educate individuals that will guide the society of Science and Arts through a universal aspect. Ankara University offers the accumulation of knowledge and technology acquired through the wide range of research and application centers within its body focused on various scientific fields. The main objective of the university is to create scientific research and highlighting the interdeciplinary approaches in education and research. To prepare diploma in formal and non-formal education as well as certificate programs. Ankara University provides education through associate degree programs and undergraduate programs through its 15 facukties, 2 Vocational schools, 9 colleges and a state conservatory, 13 graduate schools provide graduate level programs. Teaching and research staff is composed of 1197 professors, 332 associate professors, 322 assistant professors. Total of 1842 faculty members in University.
