Biography

Dr. Joseph F. Buell is a Professor of Surgery and Pediatrics, Director of the Tulane Transplant Abdominal Institute at Tulane University and the Louisiana State University. He holds his PhD degree in Medicine and Dentistry from University of Rochester New York in the year 1991 with top-notch grades. Doctor has been awarded more than 10 times for top-notch work in General Surgery field. He is currently practicing at 130 Lakeview Cir in Covington. He is an affiliated MD in Tulane Medical Center and many other Hospitals. Dr. Buell has clinical interests in drug and medical device development including Clinical immunology and stem cell technology. He accepts patients and appointments in the office under Administrators of the Tulane Educational Fund Health organization. Primary specialty and treatment field of Doctor Joseph Buell is General Surgery.  He has done his internship in General Surgery from University of Maryland Medical System Baltimore, Maryland in 1991-1992. Dr. Buell subsequently completed two fellowships, the first in surgical oncology at the National Cancer Center, National Institutes of Health and the second his multi-organ transplant fellowship at the University of Chicago. Dr. Buell has received numerous awards and Honors like Eagle Scout Award in 1982, Dean’s Academic List Fordham University, Summa Cum Laude, Fordham University and Alpha Sigma Nu, Jesuit University Honor Society in 1987. He has over 179 publications and has given 525 presentations worldwide.
