Giresun University

Although Giresun University is seen as a new university founded in 2006, the history of some units in the world is actually very old. Today, some of the units that formed Giresun University were connected to the Ministry of National Education, Karadeniz Technical University and Cumhuriyet University. It is necessary to see them when looking at the history of Giresun University. Giresun University units are presented in the following paragraphs in the historical flow.

The basis of our university is the unit which started education and teaching in 1962 under the name of Girls' Teacher School. The Giresun Girl Teacher School was transformed into the Education Institute in 1976 and in 1982 it was attached to the KTÜ Fatih Education Faculty as a two year School of Education. In 1992, he became a Faculty of Education under the same university .

Giresun University was established in 2006 with the Law No. 5467 and the Decree of the Council of Ministers;

Vocational School opened in 1976 under the auspices of the Ministry of National Education and connected to the Rector's Office in 1982 ,

The Higher School of Health , which started teaching at the associate degree in 1992 and was admitted to the KTÜ at the undergraduate level in 1996 ,

Tirebolu Vocational School , which has been in service since 1994-95 academic year ,

The Faculty of Science and Letters , established in 1998 under the auspices of the Rectorate of the KTÜ ,

Åžebinkarahisar Vocational High School , which started its educational activities in 1998 due to the Rectorate of Cumhuriyet University ,

The Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences , established in March 2003 ,

In 2005, Alucra Vocational School, which started its educational activities under Cumhuriyet University,

including 2 schools, 3 and 3 it consisted of Vocational School.
