Biography

Dr. Velasquez graduated from the California School of Professional Psychology-Los Angeles in the Multicultural Community emphasis program. She completed her internship at DSH - Patton and has been a psychologist at DSH - Patton in various capacities. Her interests are focused in a number of areas including the treatment of monolingual and bilingual Spanish-speaking patients, the advancement of cultural competence in the mental health field, and forensic evaluation. She has served in a number of capacities at DSH - Patton including work as a unit psychologist on DSH - Patton’s monolingual Spanish-speaking unit, Chair of one of DSH - Patton’s Positive Behavioral Support (PBS) teams, and as a Senior Psychologist Supervisorcoordinating and overseeing Specialized Psychology Services.

Research Interest
