United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) was established in 1976 and is the first and oldest of the three government-sponsored institutions of higher learning in the United Arab Emirates (the other two are the Higher Colleges of Technology and Zayed University). The university is located in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates. The UAEU is an accredited comprehensive research-based institution providing research solutions to support the UAE and, through its global partners, the wider world. The university admits UAE nationals primarily, with about 15% of its student body coming predominantly from other Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
