Dr. Jesus Simal-Gandara, since 1999, full professor in nutrition and food science at the University of Vigo, Spain (born 1966), acts both as the Agro-Food Research Centre’s coordinator and EJEAFChe’s editor in-chief. Dr. Jesus Simal-Gandara did Ph.D. in nutrition and food science at the University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain. Dr. Simal-Gandara is an Editor of 4 national books and chapters in 8 national and 13 international books and has published 160 papers in peer-reviewed journals, with 2400 citations.

Research Interest

Dr. Jesus Simal-Gandara's research focuses on the fate of agricultural and environmental organic chemical contaminants in the food production chain, and the improvement of the sensorial and functional quality of food, with an eye on the food chain as a whole, integrating environmental, agricultural and food issues with nutrition and public health.
