Biography
Dr. Jackson Wong is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, and Head of the Division of Respiratory Medicine at McMaster University. Dr. Wong earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of London and completed his training in general pediatrics and pediatric respiratory medicine in London and Leicester, UK. He pursued a fellowship in pediatric respirology and lung transplantation at the Royal Children’s Hospital and the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne, Australia and was a senior fellow in pediatric heart and lung transplantation at the Great Ormond Street Hospital in the UK. He participated in the revision of the 2011 RCPSC Pediatric Respirology Training Curriculum. As a leader and authority in his field, he had served on Health Canada’s Expert Advisory Committee on Cells, Tissues and Organs, and as the Secretary of the International Pediatric Lung Transplant Collaborative. Currently, he serves as the Co-chair of the Standard Committee at the Canadian Society of Transplantation and a member of the Canadian Standard Association Technical Subcommittee on Safety of Cells, Tissues, and Organs for Transplantation.
