Biography

Dr. Ping Lan is a professor at the Institute of Soil Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He obtained his Ph.D. in 2001 at the China Agriculture University, majored in Botany. He did postdoctoral researches in Institute of genetics and developmental biology, CAS, Fraunhofer Institute for Molecular biology and Applied Ecology, the Institute of Molecular Biotechnology, RWTH Aachen, Germany, The State Agricultural Biotechnology Centre (S.A.B.C), Murdoch University, Western Australia and Institute of Plant and Microbial biology, Academia Sinica, Taipei. He joined the Institute of Soil Science, CAS in 2012 through 100-talent program as a full professor of plant nutrition. He has been supported by grants of National Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and others. His research topics mainly include: 1, Transcriptomic and proteomic response of plants to nutritional deficiency and excess and other abiotic stresses; 2, Root architecture (root hair) in response to nutritional starvation; 3, Soil proteomics.
