Biography
Dr. Krishna Singh is a Research Assistant Professor, Department of Pathology, School of Medicine, New York University, New York, NY. Dr. Singh completed his Ph. D. in Biochemistry-Microbiology from Department of Microbiology, Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India. Dr. Singh has received various awards and honors. He has a patent on his name and is a Member of American Society for Microbiology.
Dr. Krishna Singh’s lab investigates the molecular mechanisms of M. tuberculosis (M. tb) pathogenesis during HIV infection. A clear understanding of M. tb pathogenesis will help them to design novel interventions to control TB in M. tb-HIV co-infected individuals. Since M. tb alters expression of genes/proteins to adapt to the various environments that it encounters, Dr. Krishna Singh focus on defining the role of M. tb genes/proteins expressed during HIV infection to gain insight into the mechanisms of TB pathogenesis.
Research Interest
Dr. Krishna Singh’s areas of research are to develop diagnostic tests for infectious diseases, Delineate pathogenesis of TB and HIV-TB, Design novel interventions to control TB in M. tb-HIV co-infected individuals.
