Jane M. Grant-Kels has also been the director of the dermatology residency program which she helped begin in 2007. The residency was expanded from 6 to 9 residents just a few years after its inception and the Department now also offers two fellowships. She was named and remains director of the Melanoma Program in 2004 and Director of the Cutaneous Oncology Center in 2007. She was also Assistant Dean of Clinical Affairs from 2003 to July 1, 2015. Dr. Grant-Kels received her BA Degree in 1971 from Smith College and her Medical Degree from Cornell University Medical College in 1974. She trained in pediatrics and dermatology at The New York Hospital of Cornell Medical Center. She then completed a dermatopathology fellowship at NYU under the direction of A. Bernard Ackerman. She serves on numerous boards and 23 editorial boards related to her field. She has been an associate editor for the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology and the founding editor in chief of the Journal of Clinical Medicine and founding co-editor in chief of the International Journal of Women’s Dermatology. She has published over 230 papers, 83 chapters, guest edited 19 journals, and edited or co-authored 6 books. Additionally she has delivered over 440 lectures nationally and internationally. She is presently an elected member of the Board of the Women’s Dermatologic Society and the Board of the American Academy of Dermatology.
