Dr. Saja H Hamed hold a B.Sc. in Pharmacy in 1998 from Faculty of Pharmacy in the University of Jordan and was ranked first on a class of 103. She got her Ph.D in Pharmaceutics and Skin Pharmaceutics in 2004 from the College of Pharmacy in University of Cincinnati in the United States and currently she is the Vice Dean and an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Hashemite University. She served as a founding member in the Supreme Committee for the establishment of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Hashemite University. She was one of the founders of Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Hashemite University with excellent experiences in the development of B.Sc. Pharmacy curriculum. The curriculum was distinguished from others by the addition of elective courses to make B.Sc. Pharmacy with two tracks; industrial pharmacy and management pharmacy. Each track contains all the needed courses for pharmacists in addition to extra courses in the specified track area. During the preparation of the Faculty of Pharmacy curriculum Dr. Saja gained familiarity and knowledge in all available pharmacy study plans that are implemented in Jordanian public and private universities as well as the required accreditation standards for Pharmacy from the Jordanian Higher Accreditation Commission. In addition, Dr. Saja gained practical expertise in the preparation of the course program for each semester, guiding plan, course outlines and working with tenders for equipment’s, glassware’s, chemicals’ and faculty of pharmacy construction’s with needed facilities and laboratories. She is currently the Chairman of the Curriculum Committee of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Hashemite University. She have several researches in the field of Pharmaceutics and Skin Pharmaceutics including a research funded by the Higher Education Fund to support scientific research to study the cosmetic and therapeutic effects of Dead Sea Mud. In addition, She have established a Lab for the non-invasive measurements of skin properties using bioengineering devices and probes which is the first of its kind in the Middle East to prove the effectiveness of skin pharmaceutics and for claim substantiation of skin care products. In addition, Dr. Saja Supervised and participated as an external examiner for a number of M.Sc. students Dr. Saja served as a former member of the Committee for the registration of cosmetics in Jordanian Food and Drug Administration and currently she is an active in co-operation with skin pharmaceutics and cosmetic companies to develop their products and achieve the necessary official requirements for the registration and marketing of their products. She is currently the Chairman of the Committee for Pharmacists’ working in Jordanian Universities in the Jordanian Pharmacists Association as well as a member in the Committee of Female Pharmacists and Women Affairs and in the Committee of Marketing and Business Development in the Jordanian Pharmacists Association

Dr. Saja H Hamed Research Intrests are: Pre-formulation and formulation studies for optimization of drugs and skin pharmaceuticals. Non-invasive claim substantiation of drugs and skin pharmaceuticals using bioengineering techniques. Formulation and process factors affecting in vitro/in vivo performance of drugs and skin pharmaceuticals. Formulation and quality control of Dead Sea products. Support skin pharmaceuticals and cosmetic industry in the Middle East and help them comply with the required regulation for registering and marketing their products. Assessment and development of new skin pharmaceuticals. Provide evidence-based practice for the folkloric use of local herbs in skin related disorders.
