Biography
Assistant Professor Ronald Cole, who teaches Food and Beverage Management, came from Rochester Institute of Technology's School of Food, Hotel, and Tourism Management, where he taught courses in Restaurant Operations and Management and Decision-Making for Food Service Operations. Professor Cole continued his studies at Rochester Institute of Technology's School of Food, Hotel, and Tourism Management, where, as an Arthur Packard Scholar, he earned his B.S. in Hotel and Resort Management, and his M.S. in Hospitality and Tourism Management. Professor Cole's industry background includes European experience. He was a member of the management team that opened The International Village at the Trocadero, in London, England: a 23 kitchen operation that served over 4,000 customers per day. In the U.S., Professor Cole has worked as a Manager of Catering and Concessions for the Finger Lake Performing Arts Center, where he designed and prepared custom gourmet menus for such performing artists as: Steve Winwood, Billy Crystal, Stevie Nicks and Bonnie Raitt. In addition, he has worked several seasons as a Head Chef in the Catskill region and was responsible for administering a Culinary Arts training program for Marriott Corporation.
Research Interest
Professor Cole looks forward to developing the Commercial Foods area of our program. Professor Cole is currently developing multimedia applications for educating and training hospitality professionals.
