The following topics should be focused in Dr Hong’s Lab. 1. Aquatic (cultivated) fish pathogenesis and potential drugs screening was focused on nervous necrosis virus (NNV, RNA virus) and iridovirus (DNA virus). The topics are covered the mitochondria-mediated cell death signaling, virus-induced ER stress, reactive oxygen species (ROS) as a signal and autophagy regulation. 2. Zebrafish as a model system in basic embryonic development and brain disease was examined via cas9 knockout system on PSR and Bad-b genes. This model system should be applied on either embryonic development such as brain and heart formation or brain diseases and therapy.
