Itzhak Benenson is professor of geography and head of spatial modeling and GIS laboratory. Itzhak Benenson received his MS degree in Mathematics from the Urals State University,Sverdlovsk,USSR, and PhD in Mathematical Biophysics, Moscow State University, 1984.

Itzhak Benenson research interests include mathematical modeling of the complex system dynamics with applications to the urban and ecological systems, Environmental impact assessment and small-scale models of human impact, GIS and their applications, Applied statistics and geostatistics.
