The physiological responses to injury and rehabilitation techniques have been the focus of her research interests. Injury predisposition and reduction has been a primary focus for an athletic population. In addition, the target population of her early research has included an adolescent athletic population, which remains a relatively understudied population who present unique complications with an injury process. Since Dr. Boham’s arrival at NMSU, she has been working on research with the NMSU rodeo team in the efforts to prevent head injuries.
