Vladimir S.Tikunov  published more than 500 articles including 19 monographs and textbooks in  Russia and abroad. His current interests are geoinformatics, applied mapping and mathematical-cartographic modeling.He has received D.N. Anuchin Award for his work in mathematical-cartographic modeling. He also received the Award in Science and Technology of the Russian Federation Government for the development of environmental and natural-resources atlases of Russia.
