Dr. Holmes is Conversant on topics such as cancer epidemiology and molecular epidemiology. She also serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of International Human Rights and the Journal of Proteome Research.

Dr. Holmes's research focuses on Androgen deprivation (therapy to decrease testosterone levels in men with certain cancers) and racial/ethnic varibility in prostate cancer survival.
