Biography
Nancy Boiter Powell is an Associate Professor of College of Textiles at North Carolina State University, USA. She has been graduated in B.F.A. & M.F.A. from University of Georgia. Professor Powell's degrees in design are combined with 27 years in the textile industry with design, marketing and management responsibilities. Before Joining North Carolina State University, Powell was associated as Director of Design at LaFrance Industries from 1975 – 1979 (4 years); as the Director of Design, Automotive at Guilford Mills from 1989 –1994 (5 years); as the Director of Product Development and Design for Lantal Textiles from 1994 – 1996 (2 years); as the Director of Design for Milliken & Company from 1996 – 2002 (6 years). She is also been associated with the international societies namely American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC), Product Development and Management Association (PDMA), Color Marketing Group (CMG), SAE and The International Textiles and Apparel Association (ITAA).
